The hard part isn’t the strategy. It’s the terrain.
Board advisory, governance and keynotes on culture, technology and leading through uncertainty.
Most strategies are sound on paper. They come undone in the terrain — the culture, the politics, the human realities a shiny presentation never captures.
Steve brings deep knowledge of corporate strategy, technology, governance and innovation delivery to his Board and Advisory work. He is chairing governance and risk committees, leading strategic workshops, and steering Boards and CEOs through leadership transitions, strategic renewal, large-scale IT programs, AI policy and adoption, and M&A deals and integration. He challenges management constructively and provokes robust, evidence-based conversation around the Board table.
He has also tested himself on terrain of the literal kind — climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, walking 3,500 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago, trekking half the Annapurna circuit, and supporting Tim Jarvis’s 2013 Shackleton re-enactment in Antarctica. Each one a lesson in endurance, judgement and navigating the unknown.
Since completing his executive career, Steve has become a motoring enthusiast and writer, driving more than 20,000 kilometres through Europe and Australia in his touring cars of choice — finding the best roads, and the better stories.
